The JBI Great National Jewish Read-In is a tzedakah experience through which children in religious schools learn about disability and have a direct experience of helping kids their own age who are blind, visually impaired and reading disabled. Students raise funds by reading books in print so that blind and visually impaired children can have the books they need in Braille, Large Print and Audio to participate fully alongside their peers. Children are awarded prizes according to the level of funds they raise, and every participant receives a certificate in recognition of his or her efforts.
For more information on how your child's school can participate in this year's Read-In, please contact Arlene Dondiego, JBI Read-In Administrator, at 212-889-2525 or via email at adondiego@jbilibrary.org.
